Fakebusters: Angelite

Hello again dear Fakebusters, we have some more epic fakery for you all. Today we will be taking a look at the many ways angelite can be faked. To be honest I thought this crystal would be a little too obscure for the world of fakes, but boy was I wrong.

This example clearly has colour dramas, being far too bright for the baby blue that is angelite. It is also far too uniform, as angelite usually has some mottling and variation.

This one also has the same problems, far too uniform and bright.

This one does at least have some mottling, but it is far too well delineated between the colours and too bright.

This one isn't even remotely the correct colour, and is likely a chalcedony, very grey, a little blue.

This? Honestly I don't even know where angelite comes into it. The completely wrong colour and texture.

So, this is yellow. Angelite is a delicate, angelic blue. I can't even begin to explain this one.

Now this is a nice piece of polished natural angelite. Pretty mottling, dusky blue tones, perfect. This is what to aim for!
