Fakebusters: Jade

Hello Fakebusters! I am pretty sure this will be a super easy episide of Fakebusters for you all, but I had to have you all witness this mess also!

This was being sold as jade. While at least it is green, the colour is completely transparent, whereas real jade is mostly opaque. But the glaring error here is that big old bubble!

Bubbles in crystals are generally an indication that it is a man made fake. This happens when people pour glass or resin to make the fakes. While bubbles called enhydros do appear in quartz crystals, they usually exist as moving bubbles trapped in a vein of liquid, not as a bubble in the quartz itself. The fake chalcedonies also often have bubbles, so make sure you take a close look if you are not sure about the supplier.

Thanks! We will be back soon with some more crystal and witchy content!
